The Tribe Story

The story of Tribe began with Paul Colbert, the owner, who had a transformative experience with Kratom after suffering a neck injury. Desperately searching for an alternative to pain relief, he was recommended the plant-based alternative, kratom, which led him to discover kava bars. Intrigued, he visited various bars throughout the United States, deepening his interest in the kava bar scene.

During this time, Paul traveled to Tulum, Mexico, where he was captivated by the local architecture and design. This experience sparked an idea in Paul's mind - to create a space where people could relax and enjoy the effects of both kava and kratom in a Tulum-inspired environment.

From this idea, Tribe Tea House & Kava Bar was born. Today, it has become more than just a concept. It has grown into two full-scale kava bars offering plant-based alternatives behind the bar, while providing a space for people to come together, share ideas, and work towards their goals in both Kenneth City and Largo, Florida.

Kava

Our Kava is carefully sourced directly from Vanuatu, an island in the South Pacific. Kava has an earthy flavor and a mouth-numbing sensation. We drink it to relax and feel a euphoric buzz. It’s known to help reduce stress and anxiety.

Herbal & Botanical Teas

Are you a tea lover? If so, you'll love the vast selection of herbal and botanical teas available at Tribe Tea House. Whether you crave a chai latte to start your day, a soothing chamomile to unwind at night, or our refreshing on-tap blue lotus tea, we have something to satisfy your tea cravings.

Kratom

Kratom is the name of a tree from the coffee family native to Southeast Asia. Its leaves are dried and brewed into a tea. We have three different strains – white, green, red. People who drink kratom may experience increased energy and mood-lifting effects. Ask a kavatender for more information on the effects of various strains and our on-tap tea options!

Coffee

Tribe Tea House loves to support local business! Caracolillo Coffee Mills roasts all of our coffee right here in Tampa Bay and is immediately delivered for brewing in both of our locations. Whether you are looking for an espresso-based latte, nitro cold brew, or a simple cup of french-press coffee – Tribe has you covered! We offer both dairy or non-dairy options with endless flavors to spice up your latte.
